Hello, my name is Alejandro. I’m writting from Argentina and I haven’t the best english, sorry for non clear statements.
I’m interested on buy a notebook and I was looking for toshiba products, I saw interesting machines and i wanna buy Satellite X205-SLI3/SLI4. Both models are good for me. I only have a question, I read that this notebooks have Windows Vista installed and I’m DONT sure using this operative system. Looking for information in google I reached this site, and I read about this package driver. I must know if there are Windows XPs drivers for all devices ( Graphic Card, Lan, DVD, etc ). If I’ll have all notebooks functions using this operative system.
Thansk,
Alejandro.

Hello Alejandro
I have tried for months to get WinXP working on my Toshiba Satellite P205. I made a mistake on grabbing a laptop on the way down to Antartica without out doing some research first. It had Vista on it. It did not work! I thought Toshiba was a good product, but the agreement they have with Microsoft apparently does not allow them to support their products with anything but with Microsoft VISTA on it. DO NOT USE VISTA! Most useless operating system ever designed. Since Toshiba can’t suport WinXP, buy a Dell, or get a HP and put XP on it. Toshiba is the worst computer to try and go backwards with. I still can’t get the hotkey utility to work and control the display.
I am running Ubunto Linux on the P250 and that seems to work just fine. Go figure, the sooner we fugure out a way to get away from Microsoft the better the off we all will be.
Good luck.
Pete
