How To Install Lexmamark Optra R into Windows 7
While try install Lexmark Optra R printer from a workgroup on Microsoft Windows 7, ones get annoying trouble. The computer asks for a new driver. As the printer was on at the computer is a window XP then he looks for the site for the printer driver. And it says to get it from the “Windows 7 OS Driver”.
To fix it, then he goes to network and get onto that computer with the printer and click on the printer it searches for a driver. There is no driver found pops up. And than the next pop up say “file needed printer driver inf for lexmark optra r series.” After type the path where the file is located and click ok, but seems the same problem still happen.
This solution might be a way to add printer as local printer, instead of as network printer. But consider the Windows 7 OS as 64 bit should be good solution. Here’s the way you can try to get an 32-bit XP machine to use a printer connected to a 64-bit Windows 7 machine:
– Go to “Add Printer” wizard
– Select “Local” printer instead of “Network” printer
– select “New port”
– Now enter the path to the printer “\\Win7Machine\PrinterName”
This can be use to an existing 32-bit printer driver of Lexmark optra r series and should works fine.
