How To Install Kalyway 10.5.2 to Gateway Laptop
Install Kalyway 10.5.2 on the Gateway P-7811FX laptop often make the users headache because of it complicated. Ones who able to install 10.5.2 version completely said the Mac only boot right up to the apple logo screen and then it stop immediately. Has tried the verbose mode, but it can’t decipher anything useful.
Actually there is other application you can use as an alternative to change Kalyway 10.5.2 or iDeneb 10.5.4. This program called iAtkos 10.5.5 (v5i). To make it works properly, before install iAtkos 10.5.5 v5i you’ll need this following:
1. Go into the BIOS and set:
- Hard drive controller mode to AHCI
- Boot sequence to anything with the DVD drive at the start
- Legacy (ps2) emulation for keyboard/mouse off
- Leave pretty much everything as it is.
2. Insert the iAtkos DVD.
3. Right after prompt is up, boot using “-v -f -x -d cpus=1″. This was crucial and you should make it to the setup screen.
4. Use the menu at the top to get into Disk Utility.
5. Format and partition drive. However, thought it’s better if you create 3 partitions such as 50Gb HFS for OSX, 70Gb reserved for Vista, 200Gb reserved for general storage.
Once iAtkos 10.5.5 install has completed and reboots, might you find it doesn’t boot. If it comes then you can start use “-v -f”. The one important notice did not install the speedstep to avoid Gateway P-7811FX getting crash.
