If you want to fix STOP: 0×0000007E pci.sys error in your Lenovo T400, the first thing you need to know what version of Windows XP disc you are using. Is the version of RTM, SP1, SP2 or SP3? Seems like this issue come because of a PCIe issue which requires installation using a SP2 or later slipstreamed disc. In case your XP disc is an earlier version then slipstream the latest service pack and then try the installation. After changed the version of the install CD, you should see that now it’s running properly.
