T400: Fix Bootloader Problem When Install Windows 7
For those who run Windows 7 on Lenovo Thinkpad T400 and get a problem with the OS
bootloader, surely it will make they can’t get into the computer as it unable to boot. So, if you have similar problem here’s below is step by step information about how to fix Windows 7 bootloader on T400. But first here you need Windows 7 Recovery Disk as the automatic way won’t work.
If you have the Windows 7 Recovery Disk, then do this following:
- Go to command prompt and choose “Diskpart”
- Once you choose “List disk” you can choose the right one, just select your Windows 7 “system reserved disk” if you had – Win7
installed BEFORE OSx, it should be Disk 0
- Choose “Select disk 0″ and enter “List partition”
- Now hot “Select partition 1″ if you selected disk 0
- Choose “Active” so you’ll get “partition has been marked active”
- And finally enter “Exit”
The next steps is fix your MBR and BOOTLOADER:
Enter “bootrec /fixmbr”
Enter “bootrec /fixboot”
Then exit and reboot. From now your Windows 7 should be run on your T400 smoothly.
