There are so many question about installing XP for Lenovo Thinkpad r61i Notebooks. I’ll give you some resume about how to fix installing Xp on that machine.

Actually, You just need to change hard drive from SATA to compatibility models. Follow this simple step:
a. Turn on your laptop.
b. if your BIOS screen show up press F1
c. Go to Config -> Serial ATA (SATA)change this mode option controller to compatibility
d. press F10 aand ENTER
Voila, Your Windows XP installation disk will appears the hard drive.
