My mother had to reinstall her operating system on her Lenovo IdeaPad Y510.
The Driver CD that was provided DID NOT contain the Ethernet Driver.
She called Customer Support but they just don’t get back to her. So I am searching for the driver myself. I hate doing this because it takes a while to actually FIND the driver and not some other crap that asks you to download a program that will automatically update the programs(for a fee).
So how is she to connect to the internet? She doesn’t particularly want to go down the path of getting a computer technician to look at it(they can be very patronizing and charge an arm and a leg for something that takes 20-40mins).To my knowledge she is still covered under the warranty.
It is pathetic that Lenovo cannot just provide all the necessary divers on that recovery disc or even acknowledge their clients because they failed to do this.
By the way, Her Notebook is fantastic and the best computer I have ever used(with the exception of Windows Vista being the operating system), so I am not slandering the product.

“…….automatically update the programs(for a fee)……..”
to “drivers”
“…….automatically update the “drivers”(for a fee)……..”
