I need to install XP Pro on a Dell Studio 1535.
I spent the last 4 days trying to install Windows XP on my Dell Studio 1535 machine. But when I tried to install it, I have a blue screen during the installation and the error code 0×000007b occurs.
For me, it’s begin to be a big problem because I’m a student and the technician of the department don’t want to connect me to the main domain since I don’t have Windows XP on my computer… grrr…
So, I read a lot of posts and I didn’t find a solution yet for my problem! I hope here, I’ll find one!!!
This is a main description of my harware:
IDE : Intel(R) 82801 HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller
PROCESSOR: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5850 @2.16GHz
Memory(RAM): 3.00 GB
System-type: 32-bit Operating System
Installed Operating System:
Windows Vista Home Premium edition ( SP1).
Questions:
1. How can I install Windows XP on VISTA?
2. Also, I did a partition on my workstation to run XP in a Dual Boot with Vista… Do I need to change something in my BIOS to run the installation of XP properly? In the BIOS, I have in the Onboard Devices section, SATA Operation. Actually the configuration is AHCI. Should I change it for ATA? Any others changes requested?
Can you give help me please??? Any help will be appreciate!!!!

can someone help me to make my wi fi work i have dell studio 1735 or help me to find drivers for windows xp i instal driver R181050 nothing’s happened. i think my wi fi is dead
October 20th, 2008 08:49
Hi Maudet,
Your hard disk mode is probably set as SATA. You will have to change it to ATA in the BIOS. Once you do that, you should not get that blue screen. Hope this helps.

the drivers in http://dellstudio.jeroenzelle.nl work well for me, exept for fingerprint wireless and audio device on high definition audio bus, but for the rest of devices it works well, my lap is a dell studio 1735 with no amd devices, all of them are intel, the sound driver is the idt pc audio, for video i downloaded from intel page, the 945/965 family for movile. Now i’m looking for wireless device, it supposed to be a dell wireless 1510, i’m going to look in the dell page for older models…

@maudet:
Windows XP, even SP3, doesn’t include Studio 15 SATA Drivers. You have to interagte them to your boot-cd with nlite. Worked fine for me.
Video Drivers:
Just download the latest Radeon Desktop Drivers und use Mobility Modder to install them on your Studio15. http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool.php

Here is how I got the Wireless Driver working. The problem seems to be with laptops that have the Broadcom 802.11n card.
You get the driver directly from the HP site.
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=ob-60549-1&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=447687
Run sp39243.exe and wait until it’s finished.
It will unzip files to a new folder on your HDD such as C:\SWsetup .
DO NOT run any .exe it provides.
Now go to the Device Manager. If there is an Unknown Network device, remove it.
Then, goto Control Panel -> Add New Device.
Add a Network adapter.
Tell it you want to install the driver from disk and point to the folder where the .inf file was unzipped.
Make sure you choose the Broadcom 802.11n driver.
The upcoming warningdialog can be nexted with “yes”.
I got these directions and modified them a little to match what I had to do to get it to work. It’s a pain, b/c you HAVE TO INSTALL IT MANUALLY. YOU CANNOT USE ANY WIZARD TO DO IT.

integrate intel SATA Driver and SP3 with nLite into the XP disc.
First put the Chipset, SATA, NIC and wifi drivers onto a usb-stick oder cd-r, anything you can acces from a driverless notebook.
Exept one driver (markt with an *) everything is freely accesible in the net.
1. Intel Chipsatz INF update on intel.com
2. Intel Matrix Storage Manager on intel.com
3. NIC driver on dell.com: OptiPlex 360 (even the Diagnostics Utility is working) or direct on http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink.php (if the OptiPlex drivers are too old)
4. wifi driver on dell.com: Latitude E6400
5. video - Original ATI/AMD driver, using http://driverheaven.net/modtool.php
(.net Framework and msxml6 is required)
*6. IDT Audio: install Pidt001.exe from http://dellstudio.jeroenzelle.nl/IDT%20PC%20Audio/ or the link shown above in the article
7. HDMI Audio driver on http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ (choose HD Audio Codec Driver or google for HDMI-R203.exe).
8. Cardreader driver on dell.com: Latitude E6400
9. Webcam driver on dell.com: Latitude E6400
10. IR-Receiver on dell.com: Studio 15/17 (Vista-driver should install in xp, unclear if it’s working.)
11. Touchpad driver on dell.com: Vostro 1310
12. Bluetooth Driver on dell.com: Latitude E6400
13. Fingerprintreader on dell.com: Studio 15/17 (Vista-driver should install in xp, unclear if it’s working.)
I tested everything and everything is working with xpsp3 - except the microphones. I couldn’t test the fingerprint reader and the ir-receiver either, because my Studio doesn’t have a reader and i have no remote.
A more recent wlan driver can be found here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?s=44f04e4b89b378c4e6f5538b6c5c66a0&showtopic=14644

November 5th, 2008 15:14
Hello
For everybody who have problems with sound card here is solution:
http://www.driverpacks.net/DriverPacks/DriverPack.php?pag=sa
All U need is integreat this driver pack with your windows (how to do it, look on the page). Then after complet instalation of windows instal sound driver and it works
For the lazy one try to find Win MX 6 or later, moust of drivers are integrated with windows. You still need to instal your drivers but then windows dont have problems with recognize the hardwere like it was plain.

hey cardalf,
Im having the same problem as maudet, but I have vista installed
I have a Studio 15
Now, does it have to be the same exact drivers you put up there, or can it be the drivers that came with laptop, or are those ones just for vista?
Thank you
