HDMI Sound Port on Laptop
Technically HDMI port feature of the laptop isn’t designed for audio. It’s a technology that had several modifications, including 1.0, 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, 5.1 and so forth. While the video quality has always been 1080p, the audio has undergone several changes during the years. Sure, there are smart people successful getting the audio into the TV but in fact the HDTV audio is far from their best performance.
However, if you can use HDMI of the laptop connect to the HDTV, why you didn’t. Another case of HDTV connect to laptop via HDMI is able produce the sound in some programs but some others is not then you can try this solution.
If you have sounds already playing on the laptop, then you must switch your default to the HDMI then go and re open the program like iTunes.
Any other program playing sounds on your laptop speakers will continue to play through the laptop speakers…
With the assumption your laptop running Vista, firstly right click the screen and go to Personalize. There is on the left you should see an option “connect to a projector or external display”, then click the speaker picture, and set the default to HDMI by right clicking it and selecting make default.
Now close all of media programs, and then when you open them back and hit play you should find the sound hear perfectly.
