There some reason why Windows XP can’t be installed HP Dv2700
a. There is no option to disable AHCI/SATA in the BIOS (You have to turning off this option before installing XP).
b. ACPI BIOS not compatible with Xp Blue screen.
c. There is no 82801 HEM SATA driver for HP Dv2700 Notebooks
Do you still want to downgarding your DV2700 Notebooks to Windows XP.

i have an hp idiot-book (chassis name is dv2000). model name is(in bios) dv2700. and also the metall sticker at bottom of the idiot-book is say “model name: dv2720et”
(stupid hp’s designer).
i destroy the installed vista on machine and install win xp.
just pres F7 key several times at install startup.
then download the components driver one by one on hp site (egg. chipset from dv6000 series, lan card is compaq presario xxx model, etc.)
just graphics and sound card driver from different sites.
finally my idiot-book is working on xp with sound with graphics driver but still have shutdown problem. when shutdown the windows, a goodbye screen is appear like win95 “now u r shutdown the computer with safety … bla bla bla”
i have not yet fix this problem.
this message is dedicate Hp’s stupid designer and engineer

You may setup the HP Pavilion dv2000 SATA drivers for XP and re-enable SATA.

use nlite program to put sata driver on win cd ALL DRIVERS OVELIBE ON HP WEBSITE. YOU OUNLY NEED TO EXTRACT ALL IN INI FILES SO USE WIN EXTRACTOR

Here’s what I did, hope it helps…
-Update your Phoenix BIOS to the last version (doing this saved me from disabling ACPI during XP installation)
Careful, any mistake doing this can make your computer pure rubbish..
-Go to this website:

here you can find the SATA drivers you need to add to the Xp installation cd with Nlite…
add those drivers and then burn a bootable Cd with Nlite
-after installing XP follow the instructions on that website for installing the correct drivers.
I did everything this morning, and it is working just fine…

i have a laptop HP Pavilion dv2000 with windows vista32-bit oprating system with SATA hard Drive, now i need to install windows Xp but i m unable to install i tired to try and find salutions but nothing ,in BIOS no option for disable SATA i was dowload some software like sp37005, sp36869 but show message this software version is not for your laptop
