Installing Windows XP on Compaq Presario C500 Laptops
Installing Windows XP on Compaq Presario C500 may makes you need some XP drivers from HP C501TU. All of drivers that you need are Conexant Audio Drivers, Synaptic Touchpad, Conexant Modem driver, Wireless Assistant Driver or HP Quick Launch Buttons. All of above drivers may not working as “direct install”, you have to locate driver location and all of driver shoul be extracted and store it in the folder name ’swsetup’.
Here some short description about installing Drivers on Compaq Presario C500 Notebooks. Go to My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager. Right click for yellow sign in the device settings. You have to locate drivers in the folder that you’ve downloaded and extracted.
Notes, for clean install xp Audio Sound Drivers for Compaq Presario C500 Notebooks, you may should restart your laptop for configuring it. This simple method also works on touchpad, wireless LAN or HP shortcut buttons drivers.

have problem with all the driver to my notebook Compaq Presario C500.
I have format the notebook with win xp2 and the driver not working more.
I have try to download from Hp but they not working.
Please help me because realy i need to fix that pc.

hi to all, for compaq c500,700, you required to download following drivers.
first step — download microsoft uaa drivers (for audio) after installing your audio device will detected.
second step — download connexent audio driver and extract it to any folder.
third step — download connexent modem drivers and extract it to any folder.
vga drivers are 945GM express intel corp.
wireless is Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN.
wireless assistent is not required for winxp.
no need of lan(realtek 8139d) drivers in xp.
