How To Install XP for HP Pavilion DV5Z
Follow this simple step for installing Windows XP in HP Pavilion DV5Z, This method has been implemented in Windows XP SP3 (upgraded).
a. You may create XP boot disk that has been added SP2 patch into the CD. Using NLiteOS maybe became the fast way to do that. (You have to read NliteOS readme file for patching it).
DownloadNliteOS from here
Download Gigabyte Motherboard patch from here
b. Install Windws XP into your machine
c. Download importand drivers for this laptop:
Among of drivers can be found in the HP Compaq 6735S here such as:
- sp33867 Microsoft UAA bus driver, you may should install this before before upgraded your XP to SP3.
- sp38874 HP Software Update
- sp39032 Synaptics Touchpad
- sp39425 Quick Launch Button
- sp39374 Wireless Asisstant
- sp39606 Webcam
- Driver Guard and software sp39738 and sp39602
- sp39719 AMD SATA
- sp40535 AMD CPU
for another driver, you may download it from this location:
a. Realtek Ethernet Driver here
b. ENE CIR driver here, this driver may available for Microsoft Windows Vista, but it can works on Windows XP.
c. AMD dual Core Optimizer here
d. Atheros WiFi AR5008 Version can be downloaded here
e. ATi Drivers: If you’ve ATI HD3200 graphics, download driver from here
f. Realtek Audio Drivers here

how can i install xp if when im trying appears a blue screen error on the begining of the install… how i have to patch my win XP CD? i need sata controllers? where can i find it? or have to patch with the gigabite motherboard patch? its a compressed exe, can i add in nLine too? very thanks.. sorry my english..

if you’re using Windows XP Service Pack 3, everything will be fine, there’s no need SATA driver anymore.

I got past the blue screen. You might want to try this latest XP SATA driver from HP instead of the driver from Gigabyte.

I also pressed F5 at the start and selected
“Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC.”

So after all of the installation, my speaker on/off indicator works but always remains orange instead of changing from white to orange to indicate on or off. Does anyone have a fix for this… if so, please email me at warpcorp@swbell.net.

#3 I tried windows XP Pro with SP3, but still blue screen of death
Now I’m trying what Bernard said, but it doesn’t work either.
Any ideas?
