How To Install Windows XP for Compaq Presario F700
Today I found some interesting article from Newegg (by Bill Greganti) that talked about how to install Windows XP on Compaq Presario F700 Laptop.
Actually, when you’ve installed Window XP in Compaq Presario F700, you may should configure some drivers that makes this laptop can works properly. You have to download all of Presario F700 below and setting up drivers:
a. NVIDIA chipset XP drivers
b. For getting touchpad and wireless Presario F700 Drivers you have to run Windows Updates.
c. Installing Modem and Audio Drivers for Compaq Presario F700 (Microsoft UAA)
d. Video Drivers Presario F700 for Windows XP
e. Quick Launch Buttons Comapq Notebooks.
For F700 Audio Sound Drivers you may follow this simple instruction for fixing sound error on F700 Laptop:
After Installing Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio you should reboot and then install Conenxant Audio Drivers.
If your Compaq Presario model is Presario F732AU, and your LAN doesnt work you may install LAN Driver for F732 (Only work for Windows Vista environment).

can i ask you these quastion please?
1) the audio : i can hear all audio either from hard wear or when i use cd aoudio
but when gith allo to chat i can’t heard any person talking on mic.
2) can you help me how can i install winxp on my comp. with all drivers

I’m trying to convert my Presario F700 from Vista OS to XP, but I find a hard time finding the compatible installer for my video card. Can you tell me what kind of video card installer did you use aside from nvidia geforce go 6150? Plz tell me the link on where i can download the installer… Im a newbie…thx

I found everything useful but i cant get the sound to work after i install uaa and i go for the conex thing it said error could not find the media file anyone knows how to go around that??

if you go to the nvidia website they have a page that will automatically detect your gpu and tell you what drivers to intall:

Could you please update your link so I can download the Compaq Presario F700 Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2/3 hardware drivers?
It’s a pity HP/Compaq doesn’t just host these hardware drivers instead of only providing Vista only. Obviously, the XP hardware drivers exist and work, it’s only a matter of finding them to download.

i have compaq presario F700 laptop, i have installed win xp instead of win vista , now I need the the LAN & the wireless LAN driver and the video driver , there is error with the rapidshare site therefor i couldn´t open anything
so could you please send me those drivers.

hello perhaps this is a stupid question but how can one load hardware drivers if the boot disc will not even finish complete windows installation without going to blue screen of death ?

I have been trying to solve my Compaq Presario F763NR for the longest time.
The first post works for me in getting the video card to work as well as the Audio.
