How To Fix Volume Control on HP Pavilion DV2845SE

This problem maybe you found, If you have just bought a brand new HP Pavilion dv2845se. The problem is Pavilion DV2845SE volume controls above the keyboard tend to freeze when displayed on the screen and it locks up whatever application you were in at the time. This DV2845SE using Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit as Operating system.
Here is some step to solve this volume problem:
a. Go to search and choose “run” option
b. type msconfig
c. you have to locate Quick Touch On Screen Display
d. Please uncheck this Quick Touch On Screen Display Option
e. Click OK
Your problem will be solved after restart it.

Yes! Finally, an actual answer! This also worked on my Pavilion dv2000. I don’t know why HP feels the need to load up a computer with so much extra junk, but you helped remove another huge hassle. Lifesaver indeed.

My pavilion dv2945SE has the same problem, I was very dissapointed for that in fact I’ve been ignoring that bouttons… now I can use them without that disgusting problemm I hope HP launches a fix for that….

This also help with dv5 1199, when my quick touch went crazy and its HUD appeared randomly trying to change volume (unsuccessfully) and the quicktouch itself did not work at all.

Thanks much.. same fix worked for HP Pavilion dv9843cl. the process is HPKBDApp.exe if you don’t want to reboot. Just go into task manager and kill it. Be sure you still do the msconfig thing though otherwise it will come back when you reboot.

like before…first i got a dv6000 there where a optionsmenu but only for the buttons
not for this ON SCREEN DISPLAY which nobody needs (INGAME etc)
