Someone has reported that when he received this notebook nothing problem occurs. But after installing some application software, webcam is stop working. It also conflict with video editing software. When he checked his device manager, it never found this hardware.

Maybe some short solution will help your problem. You may need update your HP Notebook and Microsoft Windows Vista through this page, you may need also update your Webcam firmware from here. You may need to hard reset if there is nothing hardware datected, unplug your battery or power adapter let your laptop 1 minute without any power and power it up again.
