Fix Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) into HP Laptop
Right after downgrade HP G50 system to XP by use the appropriate SATA drivers for the corresponding chipset, the user still getting blue screen of death although the XP install flawlessly. When it comes to the first hard drive boot, logo of windows XP pops up and he get another fraction of a second blue screen of death. While trying to get into any safe mode, it only keeps rebooting to the logo screen and then the blue screen appeared again
BSOD can be very confusing problem, there are many reasons caused of it comes. In a case of BSOD on HP G50 above, sounds like heating problem is not the caused. The one solution you can try is creates floppy USB drive, so if you get a blue screen of death after install XP on HP G50, you can use that floppy to fix it. Here are the following:
Getting USB floppy drive and download Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family for XP. Unzippe file and copy all to the floopy disc. Hit f6 and selected the 6th or 7th selection UP the list, specifically title: ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI

If you received a copy file error said: “cannot copy the file iastor.sys” here are the solution:
Create a folder within the floppy disc titled $OEM$
Create a folder within the $OEM$ folder titled TEXTMODE
Then you need to copy the same files into the TEXTMODE folder.
So the a: drive should now read :

IaStor.sys
iaStor.inf

TXTSETUP.OEM
and

Once you’re created the folders into, copied in the files, hit f6, loaded the driver, and the install proceeded with no copy errors. Using this floppy disc to boot HP G50, the windows logo should appear properly and no blue screen of death.
