Control Keys not Working on HP Pavilion or Sony Vaio
Have a HP pavillion TX Series and Sony Vaio laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium installed; suddenly the control keys functions not work without any sign. One user who has similar problem says Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V would not copy and paste though there is seems an activity but both control keys are not working.
To fix the hotkeys problem, ones try to remove hkcmd.exe from startup using msconfig program. It would be:
.
- Click Start and select Run
- Type “msconfig” and hit enter
- Select Tab Startup / AutoRun
- Find hkcmd and uncheck
- Hit Apply and close
And then after restart the hotkeys would works again. However, in most case the solution above can’t fix the hotkeys issues.
Actually there is simple solution to resolve the hotkeys problem on Vista laptop, you need only press alt+ctrl+fn keys. This solution works like a charm.
