Vostro 1014, 1015, 1088: XP Sound Driver
Some users of Dell Vostro 1014, 1015, and 1088 that make run XP at their laptop often hard to find out the audio drivers. That was causes of there are no XP audio drivers listed at the Dell download site.
The solution to get download audio drivers for Vostro with the model like above is you could look through the download drivers for the other Dell laptop product lines and maybe you will find a compatible driver. You could also check Conexant and see if they have a driver. The one compatible audio driver for XP at the Vostro 1014, 1015, and
1088 you can use is the XP audio drivers for Dell vostro 1220.
Another audio download drivers you can get through this link. However, you have to rewrite in the driver’s ini file the dev_5069 to dev_5067. This audio driver should works fine in your Vostro models.
In case the Vostro 1220 audio xp driver for 1014, 1015, and 1088 has no work even if you’re already changed the number from 5069 to 5067 in ini files, you need to completely remove the previous driver from the device manager, restart, and then install the driver from device manager. After restarting the machine again, now you can check in device manager that your audio device is really dev_5067.
