Mattews has succeed installed Windows XP on his Dell Inspiron 1526that powered by 1.9 Mhz Athlon X2, He wants to share his experience how to install this inspiron 1526. Actually most of drivers can be found at Official Dell Notebooks.
i.e.
for Wifi Driver, you can install it from Dell 1395 family (R174291)
for Ricoh SD/MS card reader you may download R166188
for 56K modem you should download R147115
for AMD SM Bus Driver download it from R174511 that has been revision on February 2008
for Enabling bluetooth, download R159805 driver
How to download the driver? go to support.dell.com and locate driver location by enter the driver keyword (RXXXXXX) into Search field.
You also need ATI Radeon Integrated X1270 Video for ATI Catalyst Drivers
You can download drivers from here, please make it sure thta you’ve choose Windows Xp/Motherboad/Radeon X1200 series
for Inspiron 1526 AUdio drivers, you can download drivers from official realtek website, download it (R171789 ) from here

audio driver needs hotfix kb888111 high definition patch, otherwise it does not work.

Yea I just finished putting XP on my laptop. And I went to the dell website and even through their ftp server and I could only find the wifi card driver.

Download the Dell Latitude D630 Sigmatel driver ( R171789 ) this will work with the inspiron 1526 on XP
