showing that the compatibel hardware is not found.

How to configure or sets the bios of Dell Inspiron 1318 so that I can install windows XP..because when i boot my Windows XP then after loading the Setup mode its affer an error that ” setup did not find any hard disk drives install in your computer. make sure any hard disk drives are powered on etc…” but i was about the downgrade from Windows Vista Home to Windows XP 2 my Dell Inspiron 1318…
please tell me how to configure the bios so that the Windows XP CD can detect a hard drives so that i can install the WIndows XP on my Dell Inspiron 1318, thanks

when you boot your computer go into the bios and change the hard drive settings from SATA to ATA, once you do this it should recognize the xp cd and you can boot straight from the xp cd or you can load vista and install that way.. hope this helps

i just install XP with SP3 on Dell inspiron 1318, and i install all drivers on 1318, Just only Dell Wireless 1395 802.11g Mini Card give me lots of problem until now i cant install it…Give me Error: the compatibel hardware is not found.
i tried my best to install it but i cant, please some one give me any idea.
How i am going to install Wireless drive on dell inspiron 1318
