I think the issue is that you are not verse with technology and therefore Do not blame Vista and Windows 7. You can’t even get your dv2700 model up and I think it is good you learn more about XP.

I have an dv2720et. Is ist also possible to change from Vista to XP?
Sorry – I cannot find any possibility to change the options to switch off the needed SATA – driver. During installation of XP – blue screen comes to tell: Don´t find harddisc!
Vista is the greatest shit Microsoft ever produced! ….. Windows7 is the same! But nobody tells them!

Hi! I downgraded my dv2700 (dv2915nr) to xp. Everything is working perfectly except for the audio quality. All drivers and devices seem happy under device manager. I have audio and volume control. Head phone jack works great. The problem is the sound quality is terrible. It crackles and pops at half volume. I’ve installed the Conexant HD-Audio SmartAudio 221 Driver about ten times or more. This solution seems to work for some but not my problem. Any ideas?

i tried installing XP and during installation it use to show error while detecting hard drive. what can be the solution for this except using a floppy drive

I tried installing windows Xp in my notebook hp dv2700 doing de nlite thing. I downloaded the drivers and i slipstreamed in my Winxp folder then i copied it to dvd. But when the Hard Drive is formatting it gets stuck at 11%. i tried Quick format but when it gets to de windows installation the computer restarts but WinXp doesnt work. Help please

do i have to install win XP Pro with no SP?

I had installed WinXp sp3 – and i have bunch of problems.

finaly i installed just 1 driver – for Wireless.

can somebody help me? is’t my 3rd day when i try to install Win XP on HP DV2700.
