How To Install Windows XP for DV2700 Laptop
Follow this simple step for installing Windows XP For HP DV2700 Laptop. Download all of drivers and install to your HP Dv2700 Notebooks.
a. Installing SATA drivers for latest Intel Chipset
Sata Drivers for HP DV2700 Notebooks
Download it and extract to your computer (C:\SWsetup\sp37005). for integrated this drivers with Windows Xp CD installation, you may can use Nlite.

c. Download LAN XP Drivers for HP Pavilion DV2700 Notebooks
Free Download Atheros AR5007 Driver for HP DV2700
d.For HP Pavilion DV2700 notebooks Audio and modem you can download and install MS UAA
MS UAA XP Drivers
e. Smart Audio for HP Pavilion DV2700 Laptop
Free Download Smart Audio Windows XP Drivers for HP DV2700, if you can’t install this Smart audio drivers you can install it from Device manager,
Follow this simple step:
Device manager => Audio Device on HD => choose Update Driver => Don’t search => choose the driver to install => Hardware Type => Show All Devices => unchek “Show Compatible Hardware” => Have Disk => locate WiSVHe5.inf(unzipped drivers folder). =>Ignore Windows Xp complain. and Reboot.

Hello, I can not install the audio driver, I installed the MS UAA XP Drivers, but when I run the Smart audio driver the laptop says there’s no MEDIA device on the motherboard. I tried with the device manager but there’s no “Audio Device on HD”, what can I do??

hello Carlos, maybe this simple step works for you:
update dv2700 audio drivers from control panel, go to control panel, go to systems -> go to “Hardware” tab and choose Device manager. right click for yellow marked driver and update sound driver

I tried this way to install XP on my HP Pavilion DV2700 but everytime i ran XP install from a XP Boot CD moded with the right SATA drivers (with nlite) i had blue screen of death (BSD). i tried to install lan xp driver, but it didn’t work, it said to insert adapter or something. i installed wireless as well, but in the device manager, it didn’t regconise. so, please help me.

They took out TCP IP Support for IEEE-1394 in Vista… Realizing that finally forced me to switch.

I tried installing windows Xp in my notebook hp dv2700 doing de nlite thing. I downloaded the drivers and i slipstreamed in my Winxp folder then i copied it to dvd. But when the Hard Drive is formatting it gets stuck at 11%. i tried Quick format but when it gets to de windows installation the computer restarts but WinXp doesnt work. Help please

Hi! I downgraded my dv2700 (dv2915nr) to xp. Everything is working perfectly except for the audio quality. All drivers and devices seem happy under device manager. I have audio and volume control. Head phone jack works great. The problem is the sound quality is terrible. It crackles and pops at half volume. I’ve installed the Conexant HD-Audio SmartAudio 221 Driver about ten times or more. This solution seems to work for some but not my problem. Any ideas?

Sorry – I cannot find any possibility to change the options to switch off the needed SATA – driver. During installation of XP – blue screen comes to tell: Don´t find harddisc!
Vista is the greatest shit Microsoft ever produced! ….. Windows7 is the same! But nobody tells them!

Hi Helmut,
I think the issue is that you are not verse with technology and therefore Do not blame Vista and Windows 7. You can’t even get your dv2700 model up and I think it is good you learn more about XP.
