Fix Inspiron 1525 HDMI No Sound
Just bought Dell Inspiron 1525 ones can’t get the sound out through HDMI while connecting to the TV. The video showed great but no sound heard. When go to the sound icon under the control panel, there is an internal speaker and spidf, but not HDMI.
No sound via HDMI at Inspiron 1525 is one most problem and seems like it was HDMI issue. If you try to install Intel drivers you should see the message that it has not been approved by the manufacturer. Thought Intel has new drivers but Dell has not made them available yet.
To resolve the problem of Inspiron 1525 has no sound out through HDMI you can try to run process explorer from Microsoft directly through here. If you did, then follow this way to find out where the temporary files
the Intel driver extracts.
- Go to the Intel site and locate the drivers for the GM965 chipset (Inspiron 1525 chipset).
- Run the install and get to the point where it brings up a box stating it has not been approved by the manufacturer.
- Go back to Process Explorer and scroll to the end, it should show you the directory where the install extracted the files to. Inside that directory will be an HDMI directory.
- Go to the Windows Device Manager
- Select the HDMI audio device
- Click the upgrade driver button
- Point it at the HDMI directory that the Intel driver extracted.
After installed the driver, Inspiron 1525 will auto-detect if the HDMI is in use. And then it should begin routing the sound, once unplugged
it goes back to the speakers.
