short specification about HP Compaq C700: Intel dual core T2370 with Intel 965 express chipset (Intel X3100), 120GB of WDC Serial-ATA, atheros ar5007 network anr realtek 8139/810x ethernet.
All of this drivers work on Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
a. You have to download SATA Drivers from here, you can use USB floppy or you can slipstreaming this SATA driver into CD through nLite.
b. Install Chipset from here and you have to reboot your laptop.
c. VGA Drivers (Intel X3100 Graphics) here
d. ALPS Touchpad Driver here
e. Realtek Ethernet Driver here
f. Atheros AR5007 Wireless Driver here
g. .Net Framework, you have to install it before Quick Launch from here
h. HP Quick Launch Driver for Xp here
i. Microsoft UAA for Sound Audio Driver here
j. Conexant SmartAudio Driver here, you update your driver through control panel and updated Audio Device on HD by WiSVHe5.inf file.
k. Modem Driver here

I bought Presario C793TU b ut when I installed Windows XP SP2, it can install because it can not detect disk. “unknown disk “.
Please advice on what to do with this.

disabling the SATA should do the trick, and that is what I did in the BIOS when you will have the option to Disable SATA operations

Yes, this method is 100% good.
But this “trick” likes little different on another model of notebook.
May by looks like this:
IDE MODE = switch to IDE (raid,sata,ide..)
SATA NATIVE = switch DISABLED (disabled,enabled)

Microsoft Windows XP SP2 does not compatible with SATA HDD. Please use Microsoft Windows XP SP3.

i m unable to install correct drivers for my 734TU computer the sound is coming from both internal speaker and external one on connecting it with headphone port
