Somebody asked me how to install audio or modem on Compaq Presario CQ40 laptop. Follow below step for installing above device:
a. You have to Install Microsoft Windows XP into your machine.
b. You may have to install all of drivers, eventhough audio or modem not detected
c. Download and extract this driver
d. You have to copy devcon.exe and audio.bat into your c:\windows directory
e. Please copy audio.bat into your startup item
f. Reboot your notebook and your notebook and this CQ-40 will load a command prompt. You may also need to restart your high definition device (audio or modem device).
g. Your laptop should appear sound device for Compaq Presario CQ40 Intel model.
h. Enjoy your XP into Compaq Presario CQ40 model.
