b. NVIDIA 8200M Graphics Driver, Download it from laptopvideo2go web here, You have to download driver and modded INF. extract the driver to your hard disk and copy INF moddified files to the folder. Just Run setup program.
c. Broadcom Wireless can be downloaded from here
d. .Net Framework (make it sure you’ve installed it before Quick Launch). here
e. HP Quick Launch Driver here
f. Microsoft UAA here
g. Conenxant Smart Smart Audio 221 (Update this driver from Device Manager and Locate WiSHVHe5.inf file). here

I’ve installed XP Pro successfully but only to discover 2 issues:
1. could not locate the build in microphone (or does it have one?)
2. when connected the HDMI to my LCD TV, no sound from my LCD TV speaker (does the HDMI only carries video signal?)
I have tried everything i cud but still not able to configure this out. Any help?

can i get all the driver for my laptop compaq cq50-104au…i just purchase this laptop in the last 2 week..after use it sometimes the system suddenly break down..now i need all the driver to get my laptop back to operate..

I hace some issues with my CQ50-100eo, som problems were solved with what’s provided here and thanks a lot, but I still can’t get the wireless connection, sound device and modem to work. Anyone?

Thanks for all of these, they have helped me partially install Windows XP…however I am still running into problems with the Graphics Driver, When I attempt to install the driver it detects my hardware (8200M) and says it is ready to install, however it says an error occured during installation and that the driver isn’t for Windows XP (I am using XP Pro)…I used the modified .inf and it still doesn’t seem to work…anyone have any ideas?

don’t use the modified .inf, i had the same problem too. the original .inf is just find with xp.
Do you guys manage to get the build in microphone working? Show me how?

The broadcom wireless driver won’t work just because it uses different wireless adapter which is Atheros AR5007. I’d been searching for the said driver for WinXP for weeks now, but to no avail. So, ’til someone create the driver for XP we’re getting nowhere.

Went to compaq site and the only driver available for atheros ar5007 is for vista. So if someone could tweak around the .inf file for it to work in xp, it would be great

installing Linux on Compaq-104AU is really simple, I’ve suceed install Ubuntu 8.04 and please make it sure that when you’re using DVD external, go to bios setting and change BOOt to HDD/USB CDROM.

I’ve installed XP Pro successfully but i got my windows xp is move slowly when i open the folder, at welcome startup, but when i using windows vista , there no problem occurs.

I just bought a Compaq CQ50-104AU yesterday.
So far, I managed to download and install all drivers, except the VGA and Modem.
For the wireless, use this driver …
Broadcom Wireless: http://tinyurl.com/58ws5s
For sound, use this …
Conexant SmartAudio 221: http://www.mediafire.com/?dg0cmmkm4y4
Unzip to a folder…use Device Manager.
From Device Manager,right click “Audio Device on HD”,choose Update driver,
No to connect,
Install from a list or specific location,
Select Don’t Search, I will choose the driver to install,
For the Hardware Type select ‘Show All Devices’
Remove the check from “Show Compatible Hardware” and click on “Have Disk”.
Next…browse to the unzipped folder and choose the “WiSVHe5.inf”.
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.
I’m goin to try installing the following graphics:

Atheros AR5007 (and every atheros driver i guess) for vista works in XP also.. i just got every thing working over here so now im going to enjoy XP on my compaq presario cq50-100eo laptop
